Racist Erickson attacks Obama’s Race

Apparently, the only reason an independent would vote for Obama was not for his policies, but instead because he was black, (this according to Erick Erickson, not myself):

Two problems. First, Independents may (and in fact did) vote for Obama because of his policies, not his race. There is no indication that race was a factor in his election. For Erickson to make such a stupid statement is racist. Sure, he is a Redloon, but he is also racist.

Second, Obama is not a socialist. I mean, really? If he was a socialist, we would already have universal health care. The only thing that has been nationalized are two of the three auto industries, though this was backed by many Republicans.

I doubt the average American can even define what socialism is… and the problem is that many of them think it is bad. Sure, wide scale socialism is not a great idea, but some areas of need should be socialized, like health care.

Erickson, you plan on forfeiting your Social Security and Medicare when you get older? Should we repeal these laws now?

    2. You bet your boots most Americans can’t define “socialism,” except that they have some vague notion that “socialism” is a dirty word, so it’s okay to use that dirty word to describe anybody they don’t like.

    The ultimate absurdity of all this is those ill-educated wingnuts who seem to believe that dirty words like “socialist” and “nazi” are interchangeable because somewhere along the way they learned that “nazi” is short for “National Socialist.”

    Oh, hell, maybe what America really needs is great gobs of money for education. Obviously, we aren’t doing well in that department these days.
