What UGA will be like with President Perdue
With the rumors that Sonny Perdue may become the next President of the University of Georgia, I’ve been thinking of what it might be like to have Perdue running the University.
I imagine that, to solve the problem of the current budget crisis, Perdue would ask that the student body and alumni simply pray it away, like Gov. Perdue suggested we do in the devastating drought we experienced two years ago.
Perhaps, if independent contractor services become too expensive for the University or its students to afford, we will pass laws that will actually increase their profit margin and just hope they have the courtesy to extend the savings to us. You know, like he did with tort reform that was supposed to bring down the cost of health insurance in Georgia, except premiums continued to increase at a pace far exceeding inflation.
Maybe this will be the long-awaited “Thank You!” given to Perdue for slashing state education budgets.
Yep, Perdue would be a great choice as University President.
